Regional Forensic Science laboratory,Trichy came into existence in 1996 as per G.O.Ms.No.156 Home (POL XVI) Dept., dated 01.02.1996. This laboratory caters to the needs of Tiruchi city, Tiruchi Rural, Pudukkottai, Karur, Ariyalur and Perambalur Police Districts, by receiving and analyzing cases in Biology, Narcotics, Prohibition, Serology and Toxicology Divisions. It also undertakes the serological examination in connection with the cases pertaining to Thanjavur, Tiruvarur,Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam police Districts.
